Genesis 50:2-4
New English Translation

2 Joseph instructed the physicians in his service[a] to embalm his father, so the physicians embalmed Israel. 3 They took forty days, for that is the full time needed for embalming.[b] The Egyptians mourned for[c] him seventy days.[d]

4 When the days of mourning[e] had passed, Joseph said to Pharaoh’s royal court,[f] “If I have found favor in your sight, please say to Pharaoh,[g]
